If the temperature of concrete sub-bases falls below a certain level, it can cause condensation to freeze and expand, potentially causing serious damage to your building. This issue, known as frost heave, can be prevented by creating a thermal barrier under the insulation to stop the condensation freezing in the first place. This can prevent unnecessary expense in renovation or repair work, as well as ensuring the safety of your building.

Both KYCYR and KYCY heating cables are particularly hard wearing and are used for applications set in concrete slabs to protect against freezing, or to maintain a constant temperature. Easy to install and maintain, KYCYR cables must, however, be laid in accordance with local and national regulations. In France these include DTU 65-7. Details are published by AFNOR.
To ensure that these heating elements enjoy a long service life, we recommend using a control device to ensure that no excessive load is placed on the cabling, or that they become damaged through misuse.
